Provided for you: template ready pattern, needles, thread, appliqué pins

You need to bring: scissors (paper cutting and embroidery-type), pin cushion, thimble, white marking pencil, mechanical lead pencil, sandpaper board*, fat quarter for background fabric.
Fabrics: a colorful assortment: e.g., tone on tone (two color prints), large tropical prints, hand-dyes, including lush greens and browns for leaves and tree trunk plus an exciting array of flower colors.

*For those who don't know, a sandpaper board is simply a small piece of fine sandpaper adhered to a piece of plywood, foamcore, old clip board or manila folder. Its purpose is to keep your fabric from moving while tracing templates.
